One for the future - ‘Socl.

Another new major Social media network is coming, fast on the heels of Google+. Look who is responsible this time, Microsoft! Microsoft is building a Secret Social Network, Called ‘Socl’. Well, that is the name for now. Maybe “Microsoft Plus” would be easier to say?

A stream of status updates runs down the middle of the page, flanked by categories on the left and invitation options on the right. A strip across the top of the screen contains a search bar and notifications. There’s also a “Party” feature that lets users chat and watch YouTube videos together, just like “Hangouts” in Google+.

It is still classed as a “Research Project,” and the word on the street is that it is near to the end of the first round of testing, and will probably have a period of public invitations that follows that.

When? Who knows, but watch out for the one they call ‘Socl’.
